Police reported they were notified by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.

The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say early analysis indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for information.

A high-ranking official said the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
